MAGIS: A SESQUICENTENNIAL PROGRAM of the School of Humanities

in partnership with The Women of Ateneo (TWA), the Ateneo School Parents Council  (ASPAC) and ABS-CBN

Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University

MAGIS is a two-hour cultural evening gala that aspires to capture the scope of the contributions of the University to Philippine art and life in the humanities:  literature, theatre,  music,  film/television,  and other art forms. Culture and history are seamlessly woven into the Great Narrative of the Ateneo humanities tradition that has influenced major movements and events in our lives as a nation,  from the 1880s until the present.

With the sponsorship of ABS/CBN Network, the Ateneo School Parents Council (ASPAC) and The Women of Ateneo (TWA), this two-hour episode showcases a celebration of exuberance,  diversity,  and intellectual energy that define the production of Ateneo graduates through which can be seen reflections of the Ateneo way,  the constant grappling of the human mind with the powers of the imagination,  the realizable spark of the divine.  This is the Ateneo way,  our all-excelling attraction to Ignatian magis,  for love of both God and nation.

The School of Humanities is grateful to Mr. Danilo Francisco M. Reyes, Department of English,  for creatively conceptualizing MAGIS,  organizing its content,  and expertly taking the lead in supervising
the work in view of a well-crafted production.
